AndAlso’s first level introduces the core skills of improvisation in the form of listening, saying ‘Yes And’ and trusting the process. All this while learning to love failure. In doing these simple things, you will find the delight of creating on the fly. Simple improv exercises give you opportunities to reflect on your habits and maybe even change them. The first step to becoming a seasoned improviser, and maybe making your life just a little bit easier.

Over two six-week blocks, our expert teachers will guide even the most nervous of new improvisers from simple games through more complex structures into the basics of scene work, concentrating both on the immediate fun and how to apply your new skills outside the classroom.

Our level 1a is perfect if you have never done any improvisation before or want to brush up your skills. It leads into our 1B, which will deepen your understanding, and give you more opportunities to practice and grow.

1. Making and letting go of offers
2. Accepting & building on other people’s offers
3. Reincorporating ideas
4. A basic understanding of characters and scenes
5. Playing in front of an audience

The course starts on Monday 3rd March with your end-of-term showing in week 6.

Level 1a and 1b are 6-week courses – Payment Options:
