DESCRIPTION:Do you want to feel more relaxed and creative? To learn improvisation in a sociable\, collaborative way? Or maybe meet new people in a friendly environment\, to laugh hard and maybe even surprise yourself. \nAndAlso’s first level introduces the core skills of improvisation in the form of listening\, saying ‘Yes And’ and trusting the process. All this while learning to love failure. In doing these simple things\, you will find the delight of creating on the fly. Simple improv exercises give you opportunities to reflect on your habits and maybe even change them. The first step to becoming a seasoned improviser\, and maybe making your life just a little bit easier. \nOver two six-week blocks\, our expert teachers will guide even the most nervous of new improvisers from simple games through more complex structures into the basics of scene work\, concentrating both on the immediate fun and how to apply your new skills outside the classroom. \nOur level 1a is perfect if you have never done any improvisation before or want to brush up your skills. It leads into our 1B\, which will deepen your understanding\, and give you more opportunities to practice and grow. \nThis course includes:\n\nHow to really listen\, not just wait to react\nThe power of ‘Yes And’ and how to build in small units\nLearning to fail and how to not care when you do\n\nPlease note: Your course will take place in Classroom 3. \nIf you have already completed Level 1a with us and then took a little break\, we offer a 30% discount to help you get back in the improv-groove when you purchase the full Level 1 course for 12 weeks.
