August 31st @ 10:30 - September 2nd @ 19:30

£25.00 – £60.00

In his book A Subversive’s Guide to Improvisation, Razowsky throws conventional improv wisdom on its head to give you a unique take on improv scenes. He describes how his life philosophy and improv methodology have evolved on his journey from struggling actor to one of the world’s most respected improv coaches. In this selection of evening and weekend workshops, he shares this work and guides you to becoming a more confident, flexible improviser.

“David Razowsky is funny, smart, inquisitive, and artistically fearless.” – Steve Carell

The challenge for most improvisers is trying to stick to “the rules” and believing “Yes, and” is the magic formula for a successful scene. Characters meander and never find their footing. In an instant, you can travel from a state of fluidity to a mess of frustration and ask yourself, “How did I go wrong?” or “Now what?”

“Informative, inspired, fearless, and whimsical.” – Keegan-Michael Key

Getting in Focus

What are you focused on when you begin a scene? What great offers are you missing because you’re building a story instead of connecting to your emotional responses? You will learn how to use the power of their kinesthetic responses to build strong scenes the moment the scene starts. Recognize how your body tells you where to focus your attention, then build a great connection.

  • London, Saturday 31st August, 10:30-17:00, venue TBA
  • Brighton, Sunday 1st September, 10.30-17:00, Open Space Studios

Point of view

Point of view is the bedrock of every relationship. You give your point of view, and your partner gives theirs. Sounds easy. But how often are scenes derailed because the actors don’t hold onto their points of view or mindlessly add unnecessary details that throw the scene off course? Recognizing, maintaining, and evolving a point of view creates confident and exciting scenes.

  • Brighton, Monday 2nd September, 19:00-21:30, BHASVIC, Classroom 3

Who: These workshops are inspiring, intense, and challenging. Although we do not have a specific level requirement for this course, we advise that participants have a year or more of improvisation training. Do email us at hello@andalsoimprov.com to discuss if they are a fit for you.
