What to Expect:
Experience the thrill of combining musical theatre writing techniques with improvisation in this online course. Led by Heather Urquhart (Showstoppers, The Maydays) and Joe Samuel (The Maydays, The Concept), this course offers invaluable insights and techniques to help you shine on stage with fully improvised musical theatre style pieces.
What You’ll Learn:
Acting through Song: Discover how to create rich, dynamic characters through song, using vocal expression and physicality to bring your characters to life in real-time.
Musical Storytelling Techniques: Learn how to weave compelling narratives through music, utilizing the power of song to advance the plot and deepen audience engagement.
Theatrical Song Structures: Gain an understanding of common musical theatre song structures such as solos, duets, and ensemble numbers, and learn how to improvise within these formats seamlessly.
12 Tuesdays, 16:30 – 18:30 UK time, from the 17th of September – 17th December, with a 2-week break after 6 weeks.
