These talented facilitators are serious about having... read more fun and make classes the right level of challenge and learning: a couple of hours a week of mindful surrender to the Gods of Improv seems to take away all the mess of daily life and energise you for the week ahead. I love learning to fail gloriously and then build something beautiful from nothing in great company. It’s the highlight of my week.

I just need to say that this is one of the best things I have done in my life. I was getting into an “I’m an introvert, I don’t do things like this” mindset. Applying the wrong idea of introversion (which... read more annoys me) to myself. After seeing my wife in her end of term show I thought what the heck, give it a go. It’s been enormous fun. It’s like permission for adults to play. Kids naturally improvise all the time don’t they? It has also I believe been quite healing. I have an arthritic condition that I simply forget about when involved in this. It’s helped me to recognise and believe in a part of myself that I didn’t know existed. A freer part. And I hope psychologically this will affect my condition in a positive way. I wonder if anyone else has had this experience? It’s also helped me be freer in my art. I love it.

Heather and Joe are the best! I took an online class with them and it was awesome. They are both incredibly talented, adaptable, encouraging and kind. The class gave me lots of great tools to use in musical improv shows.

Both for beginners and those with experience! Over the last decade I've taken improv classes in the Bay Area, Dublin and the UK. This was one of my favourite experiences (I took the “Slow Burn” intensive with Jules Munns). I... read more was not feeling super confident about meeting a whole new set of people beforehand but Jules set the tone so that everyone was gentle and supportive to each other and he also structured the class and provided side coaching so that everyone felt comfortable, inspired and came away being sad the week was over. The scenes had both profoundly emotional moments and very funny talking-about-nothing. I'd do it again in a second. It was also lovely to be able to get to know people from the US, Italy and UK and to hang out in the evenings.

Simply excellent. I've taken a lot of improv courses over the last 10 years. AndAlso has some of the most knowledgable and most caring instructors out there. They know their stuff.

Wonderful team and experience! I've made friends, built confidence and i'm simply much funnier than i used to be! Just completed my second term and am signing up for the next one. Highly recommended.

So I've been doing improv now with AndAlso for nearly two years. It's been the best decision I've made in that time and one of the best I've ever made in general. Courses have not only provided an incredible amount of... read more laughs, a link into the wonderful Brighton improv scene and a lot of friends, it's also reduced my fear of failure when going into things. My confidence is much better, I think so much faster on the spot and it's helped me adapt to more stressful situations. The end of course performances have been some of the best nights I've ever had. The camaraderie, the comedy and feeling of having done a great show is a thrill that lasts for days after. The teachers are all brilliant, they're wonderfully friendly and funny people. Their passion for improv comedy comes across in every lesson and it's very endearing. Given that I'm in the fourth paragraph I think you'll believe me when I say I can't praise them enough. These guys are great, if you end up doing this then welcome to the Brighton improv scene. It's a great place to be.

The deeper you go in, the more you learn! Yes it's fun and that's magnificent, but it's also soul and mind-expanding, which can't be bad.
