After seeing my wife in her end of term show I thought what the heck, give it a go.
It’s been enormous fun. It’s like permission for adults to play. Kids naturally improvise all the time don’t they?
It has also I believe been quite healing. I have an arthritic condition that I simply forget about when involved in this. It’s helped me to recognise and believe in a part of myself that I didn’t know existed. A freer part. And I hope psychologically this will affect my condition in a positive way. I wonder if anyone else has had this experience?
It’s also helped me be freer in my art.

The deeper you go in, the more you learn! Yes it's fun and that's magnificent, but it's also soul and mind-expanding, which can't be bad.

It's masses of fun and all the tutors I've had are funny, proactive and... read more kind, and a lot of thought has gone into the structure of courses so that you build up skill and experience (and therefore confidence) over time. So much work must go into it! And it's amazing that there's an end of course showing in an actual venue at the end to share what you've learned with friends and family. Our classes have opened into proper friendships and a sense of community too, which is a wonderful bonus.
I've never had any issues or problems and I've felt able to ask questions and try stuff out and basically it's great. Come for a taster, stay for the course!

					Love the variety, love the play. Every session is different yet has a grounding theme. I open up and learn more about my confidence to interact with others and let funny appear. The growing connections with the group are half of the experience… building friendship over time in a playful setting is really relaxing and enjoyable! It pushed the limits of what I've seen in the genre of High school musicals, resulting in each session with an enriched toolkit to create compelling characters, compelling narrative structures and kickass improviséd musical numbers.

As a player, it re-established the personal connection to being a teenager and all the creative possibilities emanating from that.

As a regular at AndAlso, the classes and the community have contributed immensely to my improv practice and coaching. Can't recommend enough joining them. Your improv and life will be all the better for it!
