It pushed the limits of what I've seen in the genre of High school musicals, resulting in each session with an enriched toolkit to create compelling characters, compelling narrative structures and kickass improviséd musical numbers. As a player, it re-established the personal connection to being a teenager and all the creative possibilities emanating from that. I travel every Summer from Belgium to take intensive improv classes with AndAlso. Jules Munns' teaching and coaching style brings out characters that are fun to play and watch, and that feel more real but are also more comedic and... read more dramatic. He calls bullshit when he sees it, and gives actually useful feedback. The only problem is that when I go back home, I'm can't play with people who have taken Jules' classes.

I just need to say that this is one of the best things I have done in my life. I was getting into an “I’m an introvert, I don’t do things like this” mindset. Applying the wrong idea of introversion (which... read more annoys me) to myself. After seeing my wife in her end of term show I thought what the heck, give it a go. It’s been enormous fun. It’s like permission for adults to play. Kids naturally improvise all the time don’t they? It has also I believe been quite healing. I have an arthritic condition that I simply forget about when involved in this. It’s helped me to recognise and believe in a part of myself that I didn’t know existed. A freer part. And I hope psychologically this will affect my condition in a positive way. I wonder if anyone else has had this experience? It’s also helped me be freer in my art. I love it.
