Life-changing, soul-affirming stuff. Genuinely really truly love improv – it’s an incredible community and something you should CERTAINLY do if you’re on the lookout for new friends or purpose.

I just need to say that this is one of the best things I have done in my life.
I was getting into an “I’m an introvert, I don’t do things like this” mindset. Applying the wrong idea of introversion (which... read more annoys me) to myself.
After seeing my wife in her end of term show I thought what the heck, give it a go.
It’s been enormous fun. It’s like permission for adults to play. Kids naturally improvise all the time don’t they?
It has also I believe been quite healing. I have an arthritic condition that I simply forget about when involved in this. It’s helped me to recognise and believe in a part of myself that I didn’t know existed. A freer part. And I hope psychologically this will affect my condition in a positive way. I wonder if anyone else has had this experience?
It’s also helped me be freer in my art.
I love it.

AndAlso Improv offerings open new doors into what's possible with improv theatre. What's delightful about their approach is how it centers around what's enjoyable and unique to the individual improviser's personality, tastes and weirdness.
I recently finished a 12-week online course... read more on improvised high school/teenage musicals. It pushed the limits of what I've seen in the genre of High school musicals, resulting in each session with an enriched toolkit to create compelling characters, compelling narrative structures and kickass improviséd musical numbers.
As a player, it re-established the personal connection to being a teenager and all the creative possibilities emanating from that.
As a regular at AndAlso, the classes and the community have contributed immensely to my improv practice and coaching. Can't recommend enough joining them. Your improv and life will be all the better for it!

Not only a fabulous inclusive community but also skills and fun and utter joyful playfulness which I carry into my work and home life too.
These talented facilitators are serious about having... read more fun and make classes the right level of challenge and learning: a couple of hours a week of mindful surrender to the Gods of Improv seems to take away all the mess of daily life and energise you for the week ahead. I love learning to fail gloriously and then build something beautiful from nothing in great company. It’s the highlight of my week.

So far I've completed two terms and an intensive, and I have nothing but praise for this school and its teachers. If you're wondering if improv is for you, grab one of their taster sessions or dive into a 1a.... read more Everyone in class is lovely and you'll be encouraged to sit in that sweet spot between pushing yourself beyond your usual habits and enough comfort and safety to find new discoveries. Both for beginners and those with experience! Over the last decade I've taken improv classes in the Bay Area, Dublin and the UK. This was one of my favourite experiences (I took the “Slow Burn” intensive with Jules Munns). I... read more was not feeling super confident about meeting a whole new set of people beforehand but Jules set the tone so that everyone was gentle and supportive to each other and he also structured the class and provided side coaching so that everyone felt comfortable, inspired and came away being sad the week was over. The scenes had both profoundly emotional moments and very funny talking-about-nothing. I'd do it again in a second. It was also lovely to be able to get to know people from the US, Italy and UK and to hang out in the evenings.
