I've now completed four improv courses with AndAlso over the last year or so, starting from a base of zero improv knowledge or experience. No regrets! It's masses of fun and all the tutors I've had are funny, proactive and... read more kind, and a lot of thought has gone into the structure of courses so that you build up skill and experience (and therefore confidence) over time. So much work must go into it! And it's amazing that there's an end of course showing in an actual venue at the end to share what you've learned with friends and family. Our classes have opened into proper friendships and a sense of community too, which is a wonderful bonus. I've never had any issues or problems and I've felt able to ask questions and try stuff out and basically it's great. Come for a taster, stay for the course!

Heather and Joe are the best! I took an online class with them and it was awesome. They are both incredibly talented, adaptable, encouraging and kind. The class gave me lots of great tools to use in musical improv shows.

The deeper you go in, the more you learn! Yes it's fun and that's magnificent, but it's also soul and mind-expanding, which can't be bad.

Both for beginners and those with experience! Over the last decade I've taken improv classes in the Bay Area, Dublin and the UK. This was one of my favourite experiences (I took the “Slow Burn” intensive with Jules Munns). I... read more was not feeling super confident about meeting a whole new set of people beforehand but Jules set the tone so that everyone was gentle and supportive to each other and he also structured the class and provided side coaching so that everyone felt comfortable, inspired and came away being sad the week was over. The scenes had both profoundly emotional moments and very funny talking-about-nothing. I'd do it again in a second. It was also lovely to be able to get to know people from the US, Italy and UK and to hang out in the evenings.

I really enjoyed the Show and I saw that people have developed their Improv skills creativity and confidence massively in recent months. I laughed a lot:)

So I've been doing improv now with AndAlso for nearly two years. It's been the best decision I've made in that time and one of the best I've ever made in general. My confidence is much better, I think so much faster on the spot and it's helped me adapt to more stressful situations. The end of course performances have been some of the best nights I've ever had. The camaraderie, the comedy and feeling of having done a great show is a thrill that lasts for days after. The teachers are all brilliant, they're wonderfully friendly and funny people. Their passion for improv comedy comes across in every lesson and it's very endearing. Given that I'm in the fourth paragraph I think you'll believe me when I say I can't praise them enough. These guys are great, if you end up doing this then welcome to the Brighton improv scene. It's a great place to be.

Love the variety, love the play. Every session is different yet has a grounding theme. I open up and learn more about my confidence to interact with others and let funny appear. The growing connections with the group are half of the experience… building friendship over time in a playful setting is really relaxing and enjoyable!
