Simple techniques to add fun and flexibility to your training
In a fast-paced information-saturated environment, where time and focus are constantly under threat, adaptability and effective communication are crucial. And nowhere more so than in training. To stand out, you need effective, stimulating techniques to deliver your message and, just as importantly, make it stick.
In this session, our lead trainers draw on decades of training to offer a dynamic and applicable session on integrating improv techniques to make your training more adaptable, fun and engaging. A toolkit for the modern trainer.
Over a full day, we will explore how core practices of improvisation—such as active listening, spontaneity, and collaborative problem-solving can transform traditional corporate training. By embracing these techniques, participants will learn to think on their feet and foster a culture of creativity and openness in their classes.
Expect interactive exercises, real-world applications, and insights into how improv can break down barriers and enhance teamwork. Whether you’re looking to boost innovation, improve communication, or simply inject energy into your training programmes, this session will provide practical tools to elevate your corporate training initiatives.

Programme content
1) Good and bad training: A brief guide
Good pedagogy is not rocket science. In this introduction, participants will discuss being students themselves, how they learned best, and how to learn from those times when it didn’t work at all!
2) Keeping people engaged
In a hyper-stimulated world, presenting people with information doesn’t mean they will absorb it. In this section, we look at some simple tricks to keep people listening and participating, from how to address a room, to guided discovery and the TTT model.
3) The plan is just the plan
Sometimes your lesson plan just isn’t right; the quicker you discard it, the quicker things can improve. Persisting is just a waste of energy. In this section, we learn to acknowledge when something is not working and look at ways to adapt your teaching without losing sight of your learning goal.
4) Support materials that work
How do we create support materials that prepare our learners before the session or embed the learning after? How can we make sure the content of the session is used as effectively as possible?
After the Workshop: Next step recommendations and support materials
After the session, we provide a tailored set of recommendations for further training which can include some of the following: Individual coaching sessions Guided conversation sessions for groups Ongoing online practice Fun ‘presentation karaoke’ sessions. After the session, participants are also provided with support materials to help consolidate and practice the skills learned.
