Ric is an improviser, performer, and facilitator with a passion for play, pattern, and possibility.
He trained in improvisation with iO Chicago, UCB New York, and The Maydays, and has also studied acting and clowning with ACT Brighton and Spymonkey. A founding member of Tea & Toast Improv, Ric is a regular on the UK improv scene, performing in genre-spanning shows such as Scaramouche: The Improvised Rock Opera, Bla Bla Land, Hitch Your Wagon, and the crime-fighting duo Jelly and Baguette. He also co-runs Scoops, a monthly night of experimental improv in Brighton, and performs across the UK and Europe.
Ric specialises in musical improv, and is both a performer and musical director, seamlessly blending scene work with live piano and guitar. Whether he’s improvising an entire musical, composing on the spot, or coaching performers through complex scenes, Ric brings a clear sense of rhythm, structure, and fun to his work.
At AndAlso, Ric helps people explore how the techniques of improvisation—such as active listening, agility, creativity, and collaboration—can transform the way they work. His sessions are smart, supportive, and full of laughter, offering teams fresh ways to approach challenges, connect more deeply, and innovate on the fly.
Favourite improv moment: Realising halfway through a scene that an experimental silent musical was actually working—and the audience was fully along for the ride. A reminder that when you trust the process, surprising things happen.
